In a move that will surely delight longtime fans, it has just been announced that Singer-songwriter Howard Kirkpatrick has inked a record deal with New York based indie label Dying Van Gogh Records (DVG). Dying Van Gogh Records is best known for being the home label of the artists Ed Hale and the Transcendence, Ex Norwegian, Fernando Perdomo and others.
Dying Van Gogh is co-owned by the artists Ed Hale and Roger Houdaille and was founded to give recording artists more creative freedom in their recorded work, and thus seemed a great fit for Kirkpatrick.
“As soon as I heard Howard’s music I thought he’d be a perfect fit for DVG,” said Hale about signing Kirkpatrick. “He’s got an incredible voice for sure, but it’s more than that. He writes very moving songs that ring true and sincere. Nothing plastic going on there. He’s got a real penchant for authenticity in his songs. Reminds me of Neil Young or Bob Seger.”
The agreement is said to be a 3 album deal that will offer both physical and digital versions of Kirkpatrick’s future releases. “Well what else is there to say but this is a dream come true, for any artist” Kirkpatrick stated about the new record deal.
